Cinema Information

The Luxe is an award-winning single screen cinema in the heart of the historic town of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire and has recently seen a large investment in equipment and furnishings to ensure that the stellar reputation continues to spread. There are seats for up to eighty visitors as well as two wheelchair spaces that can accommodate larger, reclined wheelchairs with easier access and and increased turning circle.

The Luxe is now home to a full Laser Digital Projection suite, 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound, Brand New Screen, Upgraded Seating, New Carpets, New Air Conditioning and much more.

The interior of the auditorium offers a luxurious atmosphere, where one can cosy up and relax on either a deluxe seat or a twin sofa to watch films in the utmost comfort. Alongside the comfort comes top notch visuals and sound. Viewing a film at the Luxe is an experience unlike anything you’ve had at a multiplex.

The sophisticated, newly renovated Luxe Lounge provides an ambient setting for enjoying pre and post-film drinks and nibbles with a difference in our elegant, fully licensed bar. The helpful and knowledgeable staff are there for assistance and advice, and as a result of this we were finalists in the Fenland Business Awards 2017 for Customer Service.

We also host regular accessible cinema screenings for those with Autism or related sensory needs and have also started screening films with Subtitles for those with hearing difficulties which will open up the cinema to more of the community than ever before.

Baby Friendly Screenings are set up with a warm and calm auditorium, with lower volume and bottle/food warming facilities available. These shows are only open to those with a babies under 18 months old. We are Breast Feeding Friendly, and have helpful staff around to assist you on your visit.

We sell Gift Cards at our Box Office which can be topped up with any amount that you choose and then can be exchanged for cinema tickets, snacks and drinks. We also offer a tracked delivery service for an additional fee. For more information please contact the Box Office team.

Our Box Office is open daily, half an hour before the first film of the day and usually closes around half an hour after the last film of the day ends. We are always happy to stay open a bit longer for a few extra coffees and a chat.

The Luxe Cinema is located a few minutes walk from Wisbech town centre, and has two large, free to park, car parks surrounding it. The Church Terrace car park is closest and has a limited amount of disabled parking spaces available.

We are a five minute walk from Wisbech Bus Station.

Parental consent or accompaniment is not a vaild form of identification.

Films rated 12A are suitable for children aged 12 and over. However, people younger than 12 may see a 12A so long as they are accompanied by an adult (over 18).

In such circumstances, responsibility for allowing a child under 12 to view lies with the accompanying adult.

Anyone under 12 visiting the Luxe must be accompanied by an adult (over 18) at any time and no one under 16 should be unaccompanied in the bar area after 9pm.

At the Luxe Cinema, we are committed to offering maximum accessibility and we strive to provide facilities that meet the requirements of all our customers. This includes – but is not limited to – Autism and Sensory Friendly Screenings of popular family films on a regular basis, which are presented without adverts or trailers, with lower volume and the lights are left on low. There are Social Story documents available upon request to aid a visit to the cinema. The whole building is strictly monitored to ensure a little 'sensory overload' as possible, with the bar becoming a 'chill out' zone for patrons while the movie plays. For more information on our Sensory Screenings, please contact the Box Office or check the events section of our Facebook page.

Subtitled Screenings are held regularly which clearly display dialogue and essential sound cues on screen. For more information, contact the Box Office.

We welcome the use of the Cinema Exhibitors' Association Card, which is a national card that can be used to verify that the holder is entitled to one free ticket for a person accompanying them to the Cinema. Terms and Conditions of use apply which can be seen on their website at: http://www.ceacard.co.uk

Professional Carers visiting the Luxe with the person that they care for are also entitled to a free ticket, provided that they have photo ID associated with their post.

The cinema is accessible by wheelchair via portable ramp that we will place on the front of the building on arrival (unless booked or notified in advance, in which case it will be ready and waiting when you arrive).

The front three rows of the auditorium are all on one level, with designated wheelchair spaces at the end of Rows C and D. There is also room to transfer from a wheelchair to any of the seats on the very front row. Row D's space has a small platform next to it which can be useful if extra equipment, bags or gas cylinders are needing to be stowed during the performance.

There are handrails on both sides of the auditorium to aid those with limited mobility, as well as on the stairs up to the Premier Seating, and a small sloped section has been added to the step area by the fire escape to assist in the event of the need to evacuate the premises.

If you have any access requirements, please contact the team in advance and we can advise you on the best seating options and to ensure your visit is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We are always happy to make a visit to the Luxe both possible and exceptional. Staff have been trained in welcoming those with a range of needs and we look forward to seeing you.
